The Right Mind Set


The key to weightloss or any other physical change you are trying to make is to have the right outlook and the patience to pursue that goal to the finish.  All great things in life take a little time and our bodies making change is no different.  We needed time to get heavy and out of shape, so we need time to go the other way as well.  Understand that small changes will see results as long as we have the patience to let them happen.


Monthly Focus for November


Let's start to practice.  If you want to get fitter and healthier there are two things you need to do.  You need to work out more and eat better.  I know, I know, this is all you ever hear but it's not that easy.  It's not that easy because most people don't break it down into simple, manageable let's practice.

The year is coming to an end soon and the major resolutions are coming too.  So if we practice a bit now, the big January push won't be so intimidating.

The big key with eating better is preparation.  Try to plan the majority of your meals and have all the ingredients available (and some even pre-cooked).  Having easy access will keep you on track and save you from giving in to more convenient, less healthy options.

Example)1) Keep cooked brown rice in the fridge to add to meals

                    2) Precook multiple chicken breasts so they are ready

                    3) Avoid having snack food in the house so you don't pick or snack without much thought

Exercise is a matter of consistency.  The more you go the better you get, so be honest with yourself today and commit to one or two more per week.  If you currently don't work out, let's go for twice a week for the rest of November.  Two hours in a 168 hour week should not be that difficult.  If you already go twice a week, let's shoot for 3-4 moving forward.

By developing these small habits now, the holiday season and the coming New Year will be much more positive for you.

Remember, you are what you do consistently.  Make sure you make your health a priority.
