The Right Mind Set


The key to weightloss or any other physical change you are trying to make is to have the right outlook and the patience to pursue that goal to the finish.  All great things in life take a little time and our bodies making change is no different.  We needed time to get heavy and out of shape, so we need time to go the other way as well.  Understand that small changes will see results as long as we have the patience to let them happen.


Monthly Focus for January


Happy New Year!!  It's time in the fitness industry to get everyone off the couch and back at it.  But, if it was that easy everyone would make a big change in the new year and we know that's just not true.  Here are a couple tips to increase your chances of success.

1) Set a few realistic but achievable goals. For example, go to the gym 2-3 times per week to get you started.  I would like to lose 5 pounds in January.  Those type of goals, as achieving goals grows confidence and makes you want to continue.

2) Find a buddy, or even better, a small group of workout friends who will hold each other accountable.  Be hard on each other at the beginning, rely on each other to get you to the gym and before long the habit will be created.

3) Cut back on sugar consumption early in the new year.  Look at the product labels and choose brands that add the lowest amounts of sugar.  Cut back added sugar on cereal, in coffee, and replace cookies and donuts at coffee time with fruits.
